OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Julia Tripp Boothby passed away at Southern Maine Health Care on Jan. 24, 2019.

She was born in Lewiston, Maine, on June 19, 1938, the daughter of Norman and Dorothy Barton Tripp. She graduated in 1956 from Old Orchard Beach High School and continued her education at the University of Maine Orono where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education.  Julia was a school teacher for many years, teaching children of all ages from Kindergarten to High School and most of those years in Special Education.

Julie will always be remembered for her lively and adventurous spirit, for being loyal to her family and her love of her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters Dorothy Boothby of Alexandria, Virginia and Jolene Bonifield of Old Orchard Beach; a sister Mary Ellen Woodhead; three grandchildren Samuel and Eli Boothby of Virginia and Travis MacGregor and wife Ellen of Lackawanna, New York; and a great-granddaughter Hailie Hogan.

A memorial service will be held Feb. 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the United Baptist Church of Saco.
