LEWISTON — Dustin Lappin scored a hat trick as South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete handed Lewiston its second loss of the season Wednesday, 5-1, in boys high school hockey action at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

After Lewiston (13-2) took the early lead on a goal by Kurtis Pelletier, Lappin tied the game.

In the second period, South Portland (7-6) scored three consecutive goals.

Liam McGibbon made 24 saves in the win, while Jacob Smith made 16 saves for Lewiston.

The Red Riots host Thornton Academy at Troubh Arena tonight at 8 p.m.

WALES — Lisbon’s Ring Ring scored the game-winning basket with 2.2 seconds left on the clock to give Lisbon a 42-40 Mountain Valley Conference victory over Oak Hill.

Cory Wiers led Lisbon (10-7) with 22 points. Ring finished with 10 points.

The game went back and forth throughout, and Lisbon had to come from behind in the fourth.

Gabe Samson led Oak Hill with 13 points and Gavin Rawstrom had 11.

Richmond 15Winthrop 65

The host Ramblers darted out to a 21-2 first-quarter lead and pulled away for an MVC win over the Bobcats.

Cam Wood had 16 points for Winthrop, which led 37-12 at the half and 47-12 after three quarters.

Calob Densmore led Richmond (5-13) with seven points. Danny Stewart pulled in 10 rebounds, with Ben Gardner adding eight boards.

Unified hoops

AUBURN — Lisbon held on to defeat Edward Little, 54-45, on Wednesday in Unified basketball.

Kristy Coleman led Lisbon with 18 points, with Dawson Martel following closely behind with 16 points. Lynn Feely also chipped in eight.

Gage Cloutier of Edward Little scored 27 to lead all scorers, while Simon Hayes scored eight points and Hailey Smith six.

The Greyhounds (2-1) host Mountain Valley on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
