FARMINGTON — Coenradt Taylor tossed a complete game to lead the Brunswick High School baseball team to an 8-2 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Mt. Blue on Saturday. 

The Dragons improved to 4-8 and host Messalonskee on Tuesday at 3 p.m. 

Taylor allowed just one earned run, struck out six, walked five and permitted seven hits. 

Brunswick pounded out 10 hits, with Henry Burnham, Noah Goddard, Scout Masse and Adam Nussbaum each picking up two. Burnham, Goddard and Cam Daly had two RBIs apiece, while Masse scored three runs. 

Richmond 13-11,
Vinalhaven 0-0

The host Bobcats earned an East-West Conference doubleheader sweep on Saturday to improve to 7-3.

Mitch Couturier had two hits and two RBIs for Richmond in the first game, while Justin Vachon picked up the win and had a triple.

Danny Stewart led Richmond (7-3) in the second game, collecting three hits, including a double and a triple. He also had four RBIs. Justin Vachon added to the offensive attack with three hits, including a double, and three RBIs.

Vinalhaven dropped to 4-2.

Richmond hosts Buckfield today at 4 p.m. 

Girls lacrosse

FREEPORT — Carson Battaglin scored three goals to power Gorham to a 13-4 victory over Freeport on Friday.

The Falcons fell to 6-3 and visit Waynflete on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Hailey Morrill, Mary DeWitt and Haley Lowell tallied two goals apiece as the Rams pulled away in the second half after claiming a 5-2 halftime lead. Faith Dillon, Sarah Stevens and Alie Peterson pitched in a goal each. 

For Freeport, Allison Greuel had two goals, while Margaret Perrotta added a goal and an assist. Perrotta chipped in six draw controls. Aynslie Decker led the Falcons with four ground balls, with Grace Zachau adding three caused turnovers. 

Falcon goaltender Piper Sherbert and Rams keeper Paige Hume each finished with 10 saves.

Lake Region 12, Morse 2

At Naples on Friday, the host Lakers darted out to an 8-1 first-half lead and never looked back in downing the Shipbuilders, who fell to 3-6 and visit Brunswick on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Emma Warner and Delaney Pascuzzo scored a goal each for Morse, while goaltender Olivia Chabot turned away seven shots in goal. 

Paige Davis and Shauna Hancock each had a hat trick for Lake Region, while Katie Keenan picked up four goals. Bella Russo and Mackenzie Siebert chipped in a goal and an assist each. Emily Lake made nine saves.

Gardiner 8, Mt. Ararat 3

Madisyn Smith scored three goals to lead Gardiner/Hall-Dale (4-3) over the Eagles (3-6) at Gardiner on Friday.

Anna Chadwick and Emma Bourget each scored twice, and Michaela Gardner added a goal for the Tigers. Skye Cotnoir had 11 saves.

Maddi Kinney, Naomi Martin and Hannah Huston scored for Mt. Ararat, which hosts Boothbay at Bath on Thursday (6:30 p.m.).

Boys lacrosse

SOUTH BERWICK — Henry Honkonen and Sean McGuire scored six goals apiece, and Cooper Ross added four goals as Marshwood handled Morse, 22-6, on Friday. 

Casey Cullen had five assists for the Hawks (7-1), while goaltender Connor Hohn made 14 saves.

Morse fell to 2-6 and hosts Mt. Blue on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Softball

TOPSHAM — Lincoln Academy received a strong start from Payson Kaler en route to a 4-1 KVAC win over Mt. Ararat on Saturday.

Lincoln jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the opening frame on a single by Grace Houghton. 

Mt. Ararat (1-12) answered in the third when Gabby West stole home. 

But the visitors took the lead back for good in the fifth as Katelin Tozier drove home Lizzie Ober, who had reached on a single. Tozier later scored on a fielder’s choice for a 3-1 advantage. 

Kaler allowed five hits and three walks for the win, with Mt. Ararat’s Megan Reed going the distance on six hits and one walk. 

Mt. Ararat hosts Hampden Academy today at 4:15 p.m.

Mt. Blue 9, Brunswick 7

The host Cougars tallied five runs in the fourth inning for a KVAC win over the Dragons on Saturday at Farmington. 

Brunswick took a 6-2 lead in the top of the fourth inning as Shea Sullivan belted a grand-slam home run over the left-center field fence. Two Cougar errors along with Morgan Foster’s single loaded the bases before Sullivan delivered the big blast.

Mt. Blue took advantage of costly errors along with 12 walks and three batters hit by pitches to score its runs. 

Brunswick got a run back in fifth inning and looked for more in the top of the seventh as Riley McAllaster doubled with one out, but the rally fell short as Cougar pitcher Maddy Smith recorded the final two outs on infield grounders. Smith picked up the win, going the distance and giving up 10 hits while not issuing a walk.

Ace Provencher was the lone repeat hitter for Mt. Blue with two singles. 

Sullivan, Foster, McAllaster and Alexis Guptill also were repeat hitters.

Richmond 20, Valley 0

The Bobcats cruised to the E-WC win on Friday, with Caitlin Kendrick tossing a no-hitter on eight strikeouts. 

Ashley Brown had two singles and a double, with Kendrick adding a single and a double, and Hannah Moholland chipping in a pair of singles. Bryanne Lancaster and Jaiden Alexander each doubled, and Paige Lebel tripled.

Vinalhaven 0-0

The Bobcats swept an E-WC doubleheader at Vinalhaven on Saturday. 

In the opener, Bryannah Shea tossed a no-hitter, struck out 14 and walked six.

Lancaster picked up a home run, triple and double to power the offense, with Shea adding a triple. 

Nicole Tribbet made it three straight no-hitters in Game 2. She struck out 10 and walked two. 

At the plate, Tribbet singled three times, Kendrick tripled and launched a home run, and Lancaster (single, double) and Shea (single, triple) and Moholland (triple) paced the offense.

Richmond hosts Buckfield today at 4 p.m.
