FALMOUTH — Both directions of Interstate 295 between Exit 9 and Exit 10 will be closed for four early morning hours through Friday, June 14, with additional partial lane closures the rest of the overnight.
The Maine Department of Transportation is closing the highway between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., with detour signs to redirect traffic, because of construction at the Lunt Road overpass. Partial lane closures will also take place all week, from 10 p.m.-5 a.m., with a 12-foot temporary travel lane open during part of that time.
Lunt Road in Falmouth will also be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from 10 p.m.-5 a.m. each night.
In addition, starting June 17, Lambert Street bridge traffic in Falmouth will be reduced to an alternating lane of travel. Automated signals will control traffic in the work zone during construction, which is expected to last through Aug. 16.
Closure dates are subject to change based on the weather and work flow. Message boards in and around the project sites will provide travelers with updates of closures and traffic detours.
