BOWDOINHAM — The 2019 Mike Toomey Pitcher Development Clinic is set for June 24-26 at North Field at the Bowdoinham Community School at 66 Ridge Road in Bowdoinham.

There will be two sessions based on age groups. Pitching Clinic One is for ages 8-11 and will go from 9 a.m. – 11a.m., Clinic Two is for ages 11-14 and will be from noon – 2 p.m. Weather make-up days (if necessary), June 27 and June 28.

This clinic provides small group instruction in the art of pitching. It will provide pitchers with information to enhance the following areas — longevity (safe & healthy arm), mechanics (balance and posture), velocity (body effectiveness), arm care (maintenance), mind body management (emotions), conditioning and nutrition.  There will be individual video analysis done to provide a baseline at the beginning of the clinic and to check for progression at the end of the clinic

Coach Toomey is currently an asst coach/pitching coach for Mt. Ararat High School. Before coming to Maine, he held numerous coaching and recruiting positions with high schools and colleges in Pennsylvania and New Hampshire before relocating to Maine. He has worked with some of the best pitching minds in the game including Tom House, and was named a certified coach by both the Rod Dedeaux Research & Baseball Institute and the National Pitching Association. Coach Toomey will be joined by past and present high school/college players to assist with the clinic.
