Lee Adam Darling

GRAY – Lee Adam Darling, Union Electrician IBEW Local 567, passed on Jan. 17, 2021. He was born May 9, 1963. Lee graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School.

Lee was a proud and talented Union Electrician. He held a Master Electrian license in Maine, as well journeyman licenses in New Mexico, Washington state and California. For the past 11 years he was working in California. He worked in the following Locals #180, #595, and most currently Local #6. Lee was blessed to work on some major projects, Valero Refinery, Cal Berkeley Stadium, Bay Area Bridge, Trans Bay Terminal and The Chase Center Warriors Stadium. As an IBEW traveler, Lee posed the Maine hard working ethics, he never missed a day nor was he late.

While working on the West Coast he worked with many travelers from across the country. “Boston Bill” a name he couldn’t ever forget. Lee had cultivated a few friendships the first, Jack Stein and Randy Shahan, both from Local 180.

Lee had worked for the past six years out of Local 6, where his reputation preceded him. Lee wanted to know all aspects of the project, as he had a thirst for knowledge.

Lee was extremely intelligent; he could look at something within minutes he knew what needed to be done. Lee, a true “Jack of all trades” could do anything.

He had earned the respect of Local 6 hands, a walking wealth of information.

Lee completed his circle of friends Ian Jennings, Ken Phillips, Jorge, Kyle and Eric, all from Local 6. Lastly, “ his brother from another mother”, Huego Zepeda.

Lee met the love of his lifetime, wife of 20 years, while they were both working at DiMillo’s Floating Restaurant.

Lee is survived by wife Vickie R. Darling of Gray; a son Jason and daughter-in-law Holly; two grandchildren Alexis and Jase; his mother Carolyn Morong and her husband Robert of Newport Ritchey, Fla.; his two brothers Glenn Darling and wife Linda of Virginia Beach, Keith Darling of Newport News, Va.; paternal uncle, Bobby Moore of Portland; as well many extended family members. Lee was predeceased by his father Wilbur H. Darling.

Unfortunately due to Covid, a service will be scheduled for July.
