BIDDEFORD — Baylor Wilkinson hit a two-run homer in the first inning, Chantelle Bouchard also homered and had three hits, and Biddeford pounded out 19 hits en route to an 11-7 win over Thornton Academy in a softball season opener Thursday.

Charlotte Donovan also had three hits for Biddeford, which got three runs in the first inning and four in the second to open a 7-2 lead.

Abby Miner had two hits and an RBI for Thornton.

BASEBALL

FREEPORT 12, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: The Falcons (2-0) scored 10 runs in first three innings and beat the Patriots (0-2) in six innings at Gray.

Anthony Panciocco went 3 for 4 with two RBI. Caden Benedict had two hits and scored four runs.

Ben Wildes drove in Gray-New Gloucester’s only run with a double.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

FALMOUTH 17, PORTLAND 2: Sloane Ginevan and Eva Clement each scored four goals, and the Yachtsmen (2-1) used a six-goal burst in a 2-minute span to pull away from the Bulldogs (1-1) at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

Molly Scribner broke a 2-2 tie, then added two more goals to cap the blitz that gave Falmouth an 8-2 lead. Avi Fishman also contributed three goals.

Elizabeth Littel scored both Portland goals.

KENNEBUNK 14, MARSHWOOD 3: Sydney Dumas scored four goals, and Skylar Maloney and Ruby Sliwkowski added three apiece as the Rams (2-0) routed the Hawks (1-1) in Kennebunk.

Kennebunk also got two goals and two assists from Emily Archibald, and a goal and two assists from Danielle Gassman. Lily Schwartzman was the other goal scorer.

Natalie Singer, Eva Moreland and Meagan Wentworth scored for Marshwood.

CHEVERUS 15, WESTBROOK 2: Riley O”Mara poured in eight goals as the Stags (1-0) cruised past the Blue Blazes (0-3) in Westbrook.

Mackenzie Cash and Mia Kratzer each scored twice.

Jenita Virak and Tiffany Smel were the goal scorers for Westbrook.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 17, MT. ARARAT 1: Walter Fegel and Bryce Crowell each tallied four goals, and Brady Brunelle added three goals and two assists for Messalonskee (3-0) in a win at Topsham.

Kaiden Getchell scored for Mt. Ararat (0-1).
