SUPER LEAGUE: The Spanish and Italian clubs still clinging to the Super League must disavow the breakaway or face being banned from the Champions League, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin told The Associated Press on Friday.

Although the Super League imploded this week after being rapidly abandoned by most participants, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan have not left the project, and officials could “suffer some consequences,” Ceferin said.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, who was to chair the Super League, continues to defy Ceferin by pledging to keep working on reviving the Super League. While Madrid’s place in the Champions League semifinals next week is not at risk, participation in the future will be unless the ultimatum is dropped.

ENGLAND: Several hundred Arsenal fans protested outside Emirates Stadium before the English Premier League match against Everton to call for American owner Stan Kroenke to leave the club for joining the Super League.

Everton won, 1-0, as Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno allowed a shot from Richarlison to squeeze between his legs.

Fans gathered on the stadium’s concourse more than two hours before kickoff, banging metal screens above the main box office, lighting flares, setting off fireworks, blaring airhorns and chanting “We want Kroenke out,” and “We want our Arsenal back.”

They also hung banners over the edge of the concourse including ones that read, “Arsenal till I die. Kroenke out,” and “Our club our home. Sell up Stan.”

Kroenke also owns the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche.

WALES: Former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs has been charged with assaulting two women, prosecutors said, and as a result won’t coach Wales at the European Championship.
