I just loved Greg Kesich’s May 16 column, “There’s no epidemic of worker laziness.”

COVID has finally brought attention to the massive problems and discrepancies in our society. Trickle-down economics has been proven over and over again that it does not work. The rich only get richer, and in a big way, as COVID has shown.

Yet a living wage is still blocked by our elected representatives, as are paid sick leave, paid family leave, child care, pre-K education and health care for all, as most of Europe enjoys. Now let’s see if our government can address this.

The Biden administration has an American Families Plan to start building from the bottom up. That will sure be a welcome change for the many low-paid workers in our country. We need to lift everyone up.
