Jean Lowell

WESTBROOK – Jean Lowell, 87, died peacefully at home, from cancer, Wednesday June 2, 2021. She was born March 23, 1934 in Westbrook, a daughter of Henry and Ada (White) Bailey.

Jean grew up in Westbrook and attended local schools. Jean enjoyed a career in financial services working for Westbrook Trust, now Bank of America, for over 30 years. Jean was a proud 50-year Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and longtime member of the Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed traveling especially to Alaska and Egypt and over her lifetime visited over 100 Eastern Star chapters throughout the United States and Canada. She also enjoyed spending time with family, backyard cookouts, playing scrabble and cribbage, and attending church suppers with lifelong friends George and Dottie Walker.

In addition to her parents Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, David Lowell; son, Stephen Lowell; and brother, Lloyd Bailey.

She is survived by her son, Bruce Lowell and his wife Sharon of Westbrook, daughter-in-law, Denise Lowell; grandchildren Kim Lowell, Kristean and Brian Jacobs, Eric and Rhonda Lowell, Angela and Christian Davis, Bruce and Michelle Lowell, Shawn Mains, Steven Limmer and Elizabeth Babbidge; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Lowell; and special friend, Jack Estes.

Jean’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Southern Maine for their care and support.

Visitation will be held Monday June 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais and Segee, 35 Church St., Westbrook, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday June 8. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook.
