PORTLAND – Maud Alice Rumo, 102, of 880 Forest Ave., passed away on Wednesday Dec. 1, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Manor after a long illness. She was born in Windham the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Aubin) Green. The family moved to Rumford where Maud attended and graduated from the former Stephen’s High School, class of 1936. Maud later moved to Portland where she worked for several retail stores, and then worked at St. Joseph’s Manor for several years.
She was a 60-year communicant of Our Lady of Hope Parish St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and a longtime member of the Italian Heritage Center.She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Rumo in 1997, a daughter, Barbara Curato Roukey, grandson Sgt. Larry Roukey, U.S.A., stepson, Arthur Rumo Jr., and stepdaughter, Mary Rumo Bell.
Maud leaves her daughter, Sandra Curato, of Portland, three granddaughters, Ellen M. Legere, Dotty R. Collins, Jayne S. Pasquali, several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Sunday Dec. 5, 2021, 4-6 p.m., at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Dec. 6, 2021, at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Hope Parish St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stevens Ave., Portland. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
