CAPE ELIZABETH ­— Owen Tighe scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth quarter to help Cape Elizabeth pull away for a 56-47 win over Fryeburg Academy in a Western Maine Conference boys’ basketball game Wednesday night.

Cape Elizabeth (9-7) used a 20-4 advantage in the second quarter to open a 29-16 lead, then withstood a comeback bid by the Raiders (6-9), who closed to within 35-32 after three quarters.

Evan Reeves led the Capers with 15 points, Jake Frame scored 14 and Will Bowe scored 10.

William Hallam paced Fryeburg with 19 points.

FALMOUTH 66, MORSE 46: Judd Armstrong scored 16 points to lead the Navigators (11-2) to a win over the Shipbuilders (5-7) in Falmouth.

Jackman Walker chipped in with 15 points and Jack Stowell finished with 10.

Gabe Aucoin scored 18 points for Morse.

DEERING 73, WINDHAM 51: Evan Lagasse made three of his seven 3-pointers in the second quarter as the Rams (5-9) used a 20-9 run to take control against the Eagles (2-12) at Portland.

Lagasse finished with 21 points, Remijo Wani tossed in 20 and Max Chikuta added 19 for Deering, which led 35-21 at halftime.

Will Mannette sank 3-pointers and led Windham with 22 points.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 45, ST. DOMINIC 44: Landen Johnson scored 21 points and Brady Plante had 11 as the Seagulls (9-5) edged the Saints (9-4) in Auburn.

St. Dom’s was ahead 25-17 at halftime before OOB outscored the Saints 19-5 in the third quarter.

Taylor Varney scored 12 points for St. Dom’s, Jonathan Tangilameszu had 11 and Noah Cyr dropped in 10.

NOKOMIS 53, MT. BLUE 24: The Warriors ended the game with a 28-2 run to pull away from the Cougars in Farmington.

Nokomis, ranked No. 1 in the Varsity Maine boys’ basketball poll, held a 25-22 lead in the third quarter before taking control.

Cooper Flagg, a 6-foot-8 freshman, led Nokomis with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Madden White scored 13 points and Ace Flagg had 12.

YORK 70, POLAND 56: Jacob Fogg had 20 points and six assists for the Wildcats (10-2) in a win over the Knights (6-9) at York.

J.P. Frazier added 15 points, and Kevin Burke chipped in with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Hunter Gibson paced Poland with 29 points.

CHEVERUS 71, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 56: Seth Huntington led the Stags (7-7) with 20 points in a win over the Broncos (2-13) at Hampden.

Silvano Ismail added 16 points, while Giovanni St. Onge tossed in 12.

Andrew Day scored 19 points for Hampden.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

OCEANSIDE 60, MEDOMAK VALLEY 27: Bailey Breen and Audrey McKie scored eight points apiece in the first quarter as the Mariners (13-0) opened an 18-7 lead on the way to a win over the Panthers (9-5) in Waldoboro.

Breen finished with 25 points and McKie had 17.

Alyssa Creamer and Katrina Williamson each scored seven points for Medomak.

CAPE ELIZABETH 41, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 38: Olivia Manning scored 14 points, Meghan Conley added 12, and the Capers (2-10) edged the Raiders (3-10) in Fryeburg.

Sydney Shaw scored 12 points for Fryeburg.

GREELY 45, LAKE REGION 26: Kaiyla Delisle got 10 of her 14 points in the first half, leading the Rangers (10-4) past the Lakers (5-12) at Naples.

Chelsea Gravier added 10 points, all from the free-throw line.

Shelby Sheldrick scored 10 points for Lake Region.

OXFORD HILLS 48, PORTLAND 20: Sierra Carson outscored the Bulldogs (2-14) by herself, dropping in 22 points for the Vikings (13-1) in a win at Portland.

Ella Pelletier added 10 points for Oxford Hills, which held Portland scoreless in the fourth quarter and outscored the Bulldogs 28-5 in the second half.

Naulissa Tuza led Portland with six points.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

EDWARD LITTLE 3, YARMOUTH 0: Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland (7-5-2) erupted for three goals in the third period to beat Yarmouth/Freeport (4-7) in Auburn.

Molly Sirois broke the scoreless deadlock, with an assist from Meghan Lachance. Kylee Spugnardi made it 2-0, assisted by Caroline Audette, and Sophia Hartley added a third goal, set up by Eve Martineau and Spugnardi.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

LEAVITT 4, ST. DOM’S 1: Gibson Dozois broke a tie late in the second period as Leavitt/Gray-New Gloucester/Oak Hill/Poland (6-4-1) beat the Saints (0-11) in Auburn.

Hunter Bussiere, Kaden Trenoweth and Breck Langevin also scored for the Kings.

Colin Casserly scored the only goal for St. Dom’s.

MARSHWOOD 4, KENNEBUNK 2: Marshwood/Noble/Traip/Sanford (5-7-1) got goals from Ryan Dumont, Truck Tellefsen, Danny Fuller and Nathan Jalbert to beat the Rams (0-8) in Dover, New Hampshire.

TJ Brown made 29 saves for the Knighthawks.
