Daniel Jason Tibbetts

GRAY – Daniel Jason Tibbetts, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 24, 2022.

Daniel was originally born in Portsmouth, N.H. and was later raised in Bingham.

Predeceased by grandparents Blaine and Jeanette Tibbetts, Donald and Candide West; and father, Barry Tibbetts.

He is survived by his adoring mother, Violet Tibbetts; loving wife, Amanda Thomes; beloved children, Taylor Tibbetts, daughter, and Nicolas Farley, son; as well as brothers Mark Tibbetts and his wife Tina Tibbetts, Jeff Tibbetts and his fiancé Maria Rhodes; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Daniel attended local schools and graduated from Upper Kennebec Valley High School class of 1990. He continued his education at University of Maine, Orono, obtaining his degree in electrical engineering in 1995.

Daniel put himself through college working at his uncle’s store “Jimmy’s Market” as a meat cutter. Being the entrepreneur he was he started his first paper route at 8 years old and would mow lawns with his brothers during the summer.

Dan began his career at SMRT in August 1996 and worked there for the past 25 years. His hard work and dedication earned him a position as a principal.

Dan enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping, skiing, and coaching his daughter’s softball teams. He would always be found on the sidelines at his children’s sporting events.

A service will be held at Federated Church in Skowhegan on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m.
