Katharine Blackburn tied the game with 7.1 seconds in regulation and Libby Hooper scored in the fourth overtime as top-seeded Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete/South Portland escaped with a 5-4 win over No. 4 Falmouth in a South girls’ hockey semifinal Saturday at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.

Falmouth was on the verge of an upset after Amelia Brann’s second goal of the game made it 4-2 early in the third period. Marina Bassett started Cape’s comeback at 6:49 of the third.

Sofia Cook and Delaney Whitten also scored for the Capers. Falmouth’s Trinity Grenier tied the game at 2-2 with a power-play goal in the second period, and Kate Kinley put the Navigators ahead late in the second.

SCARBOROUGH 1, CHEVERUS 0: Evelyn Boardman scored with eight seconds remaining in the third overtime as the third-seeded Red Storm (11-5-1) outlasted No. 2 Cheverus/Old Orchard Beach/Kennebunk/Windham (12-5-1) in a South semifinal at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.

Scarborough advanced to meet top-seeded Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete/South Portland in the regional final Wednesday at Troubh.

LEWISTON 10, ST. DOM’S 1: The top-seeded Blue Devils (15-2) got two goals apiece from Leah Dube, Toree St. Hilaire, Charlotte Cloutier and Leah Landry in a North semifinal victory over fifth-seeded St. Dominic/Winthrop/Gray-NG/Monmouth at The Colisee in Lewiston.

Sadie Morgan and Courtney Lachance also scored for Lewiston, which raced to a 5-0 lead in the first period. The Devils will play for the regional title Wednesday against No. 2 Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.

Georgiana Davidson got the lone goal for St. Dom’s.

EDWARD LITTLE 4, MT. ARARAT 1: Sophia Hartley scored twice as second-seeded Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland (12-5-2) advanced to the North final with a victory over No. 3 Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Lincoln Academy (14-5-1) at Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.

Hartley opened the scoring in the first period and Gianna Castanga made it 2-0 in the second.

Mallory Stuart cut into the deficit early in the third, but Caroline Audette quickly restored the two-goal cushion, and Hartley added her second goal on a rebound.

CLASS A NORTH: Eitan Afrait (170 pounds) and Dillon Worster (195) won individual titles as Oxford Hills edged Mt. Ararat/Brunswick for the regional title at Nokomis High in Newport.

The Vikings also had six second-place finishers as they scored 163.5 points, nine more than Mt. Ararat/Brunswick, which had four regional champions: Brycen Kowalsky (126), Dash Farrell (132), Spencer LeClair (152) and Shea Farrell (160).

Other regional champions were: Devin Giroux of Cony, 106; Ayden Cofone of Windham/Gray-New Gloucester/Westbrook, 113; Julian Henderson of Camden Hills, 120; Stephen Galkowski of Mt. Blue, 138; Aiden Clark of Skowhegan, 145; Henry Pharris of Camden Hills, 182; Jonny Lettre of Cony, 220; and Kobe Butters of Skowhegan, 285.

CLASS B SOUTH: Victories by Lucas Libby in the 152-pound final and Tresdon Mills at 220 helped Mountain Valley edge Wells for the regional title at Fryeburg Academy.

Eleven Mountain Valley wrestlers qualified for the state meet next Saturday at Morse High by placing among the top four. The Falcons scored 177.5 points to 162 for Wells, the four-time defending state champion.

Jace Patel (120), Griffin Brickett (132), Michael Ducharme (138) and Eli Potter (171) won their weight classes for Wells, which will send eight wrestlers to the state meet.

Other winners were: Wynn Pooler of Erskine Academy, 106; Maddie Ripley of Oceanside, 113; Gavin Ripley of Oceanside, 126; Jayden Lafrenaye of Lincoln Academy, 145; Joe Neal of York, 160; Allan Rogers of Winslow, 182; Job Fox of Fryeburg Academy, 195; and William Orso of York, 285.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

DEERING 41, EDWARD LITTLE 32: Yipsi Sibo had 15 points and 12 rebounds as the eighth-seeded Rams (4-15) held off the ninth-seeded Red Eddies (2-17) in a Class AA North prelim in Portland.

Deering’s Maya Gayle scored 13 points, including eight in the first quarter when the Rams built a 15-5 lead. Nyabhana Lia added nine points on two 3-pointers and three foul shots.

Jenny Chaput led the Red Eddies with 11 points.

SACOPEE VALLEY 52, BUCKFIELD 16: Brooke Landry scored 14 points, and the 16th-seeded Hawks (3-15) allowed just four points in the first half as they won a Class C South play-in game against the 17th-seeded Bucks (1-14) in Hiram.

Keira Greene and Bridget Landry chipped in with seven points apiece for Sacopee, which led 17-2 after one quarter and 29-4 at halftime.

The Hawks advanced to play No. 1 Hall-Dale in the preliminary round.

Carley Coffman scored seven points for Buckfield.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

WINDHAM 45, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 40: Matthew Fox had 18 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks as the eighth-seeded Eagles (4-15) beat the ninth-seeded Broncos (2-17) in a Class AA North prelim in Windham.

Nick Garrison added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Brandon Butterfield scored 22 points for Hampden.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

SOUTH PORTLAND 6, EDWARD LITTLE 1: Dylan Hannan notched two goals and two assists, and South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete (10-5) scored two short-handed goals at Auburn’s Norway Savings Bank Arena while handing the Red Eddies (13-1) their first loss of the season.

Cullen Adams and Tobey Lappin each added a goal and two assists, helping the Red Riots build a 5-0 lead before Campbell Cassidy scored for Edward Little late in the second period.

Roan Hopkins and Richard Gilboy were the other goal scorers for South Portland. Jasper Curtis stopped 23 of 24 shots.

THORNTON ACADEMY 5, BIDDEFORD 2: Kyle LeSieur notched a hat trick and the Golden Trojans (9-3) overcame an early two-goal deficit to beat Biddeford/Massabesic/Old Orchard Beach (3-11) at Biddeford Ice Arena.

MARSHWOOD 2, MT. ARARAT 1: Ryan Dumont assisted on goals by Andrew Brayne and Caden Fontaine, and TJ Brown made 17 saves for Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble (7-8-1) in a win over Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse (6-9) in Dover, New Hampshire.

Bryce Poulin scored midway through the second period for Mt. Ararat after the Knighthawks opened a 2-0 lead.

ST. DOM’S 3, WINDHAM 2: Erik Jones had a goal and two assists for the Saints (1-13) in a win over Windham/Westbrook/Bonny Eagle/Sacopee Valley (4-10-1) at USM Arena in Gorham.

Miles Frenette and Curtis Wheeler also scored for St. Dom’s. Jayden Lynn made 23 saves in the win.

Sam Foley recorded a goal and an assist for Windham. LucasCaron got the other goal and Porter Krause stopped 26 shots.

GREELY 6, GORHAM 1: Evan Dutil had two goals and an assist as the Rangers (10-3) downed the Rams (4-10) in Falmouth.

Brooks Williams added a goal and an assist, while Ryan Moore, Landon Werner and Ezra McDuffie also scored with McDuffie earning his first varsity goal for the Rangers, who led 4-1 after one period. Charlie Moore and Gage Cooney each two assists.

Brady Sawyer scored for Gorham.
