SCARBOROUGH – Harry R. Lawrence, 92, of Scarborough, passed away on March 15, 2022. He was born on June 18, 1929 in South Portland to Frank and Jennie Lawrence. He worked on the railroad for 25 years and later retired from the State of Maine in 1994.

Harry’s interests included bowling, golf, gardening, mechanical work and watching baseball and football. Gifted in several trades, he even built the family home. He enjoyed spending time with family and close friends.

Harry was predeceased by brothers William, Leonard, Thomas, and Raymond Lawrence and sister, Arlene Jordan. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elaine (Mayo) Lawrence; daughter Marie Johnson and husband Bernard of Biddeford, daughter Diane Lawrence of Scarborough, son Brian Lawrence and wife Laura of Florida; grandchildren Elizabeth, Stephen, and Rebecca Johnson, and Isaac Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are Sunday, March 20 from 1-2 p.m., followed by 2 p.m. service at Hobbs Funeral Home, Scarborough. Reception to follow.
