I am a long-time Maine summer resident and taxpayer on an island in the middle of Penobscot Bay – can someone with better understanding please explain why, after all these years, the state of Maine has not developed high-speed ferry service with adequate capacity like so many island economies in the developed world?
If the goal is economic security and transportation investments are being made anyway, why keep investing in old and antiquated coastal infrastructure?
