I am a relatively new Maine resident and have no connection with nor specific insight into UMaine Chancellor Dannel Malloy’s stormy tenure with the university system. I am, however, a former educator, connected with medical schools and state universities on the West Coast.
There is something not quite right about the chancellor not resigning when he has lost the confidence of students and faculty. There is also something unsettling about Malloy just getting a contract extension from the board of trustees.
I highly suspect Maine citizens are not getting all the facts in this story.
