A recent quote from the ex-governor in regards to the ex-president’s latest legal conflict clearly shows the ex-governor to be upside down in his thinking.

Misjudging the actions of the Department of Justice as contrary to the Constitution, and to be outside of the American ethos, hints a tenuous connection to reality. As writers Colin Woodard and Penelope Overton correctly pointed out, this is exactly how the Constitution works and exactly what America is about.

That the judicious employment of the rule of law as it was crafted has evolved, and been implemented for over two centuries, gives me a pleasing pause. Unfortunately, an unsettling pause quickly follows as I realize that some aberrant thinkers wish to push back against those rules. I can only hope that in compliance with the “fool me once …” clause, the voters will not give them quarter.
