RAYMOND – Beatrice C. Lane, 69, of Raymond, passed away very unexpectedly on Oct. 7, 2022 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford. She was born July 30, 1953 in Lewiston, to Laureat and Rita (Letendre) Caron.
Beatrice attended Cathedral Grammar School and graduated from Portland High School in 1971. She married the love of her life, Gary N. Lane, in 1971 and in 1973, when he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard, they returned to his home state of California, where he grew his career in retail management and she began her career with Wells Fargo Bank where she stayed for over 25 years, becoming a Loan Center Manager until she missed her family in Maine. Gary loved her so much they returned in 1991.
Upon returning to Maine, Bea found a passion for working for small community businesses. After her daughter graduated high school, she followed her beloved’s career to upstate New York, Pennsylvania, then returning to Maine in 1998 to retire and be a full-time grandmother. After the sudden death of her dear husband in 2002, Bea returned to the workforce and became a familiar face for the next 18 years at the Good Life Market in Raymond. She officially retired in May of 2022 and began working part-time with only child, Sarah, at Vinegar Hill Music Theatre in Arundel.
Beatrice was the kindest person in the world. She was incapable of saying something mean about anyone and was always willing to help. She enjoyed playing cribbage and spending time with her large family, especially her two grandsons and only daughter, enjoying Taco Tuesdays and some friendly but competitive mini-golf and bowling. Beatrice loved the arts attended many concerts, as well as art openings, and always looked forward to seeing her friends at the Hole In The Wall Gallery in Raymond and attending house concerts and theatre shows.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents Laureat and Rita Caron; husband, Gary N. Lane; and brother, Roger Caron.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Dearing of Portsmouth, N.H.; grandsons Lane Dearing and Hayden Dearing, both of Portland; siblings Patricia Jenkins (Michael), Regina Caron, Susan Taliento (Louis), Larry Caron (Brenda), Rene Caron (Cathy), Gerald Caron (Thea), Ann Marie Foshay (Robert), Daniel Caron (Dorene), and Rita Ann Cairnes (John); sister-in-law, Bonnie Caron; and many nieces, nephews, cousins; loved ones; and grandpups.
A memorial celebration will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Vinegar Hill Music Theatre, 53 Old Post Road, Arundel, ME 04046.
