Jarrett Henault threw two touchdown passes to AJ DeFilio in the first half and Robert Inniss kicked three field goals and the University of New England football team set a school record for wins in a season with a 30-12 win over Salve Regina on Saturday in Biddeford.

DeFilio’s 7-yard TD catch early in the second quarter gave UNE (5-3, 3-2 Commonwealth Coast Conference) a 10-0 lead. DeFilio then hauled in a 38-yard scoring reception late in the half to make it 20-0.

Inniss was good on field goals from 21, 41 and 31 yards.

Henault completed 16 of 24 passes for 242 yards. Will Peters had three sacks for UNE.

Salve Regina falls to 5-3, 2-2.

HUSSON 27, WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 17: Nic Visser threw a 68-yard touchdown pass to Jon Bell on the first play of the third quarter to give the Eagles (4-4, 3-1 CCC) the lead for good in their win over the Golden Bears (3-5, 2-2) in Bangor.

Visser completed 19 of 23 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns for Husson. He also ran for a touchdown. Bell had four catches for 96 yards, while Tyler Thompson caught six passes for 91 yards. Jed Lober rushed 28 times for 113 yards and a touchdown.

Bryce Karstetter completed 29 of 50 passes for one touchdown and was intercepted three times.

TRINITY 38, BOWDOIN 3: Spencer Fetter completed 20 of 26 passes for 361 yards and four touchdowns as the Bantams (7-0) cruised to a win over the Polar Bears (2-5) in Hartford, Connecticut.

Sean Clapp caught eight passes for 159 yards and a touchdown for Trinity. Devante Reid added five receptions for 115 yards and two touchdowns.

Jotham Casey kicked a 23-yard field goal for Bowdoin.

MIDDLEBURY 20, COLBY 17: Cole Kennon threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Anson Clough with 41 seconds left and the Panthers (6-1) beat the Mules (4-3) in Middlebury, Vermont.

Colby took a 17-13 lead with 4:08 left in the fourth quarter when Matt Hersch threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Keon Smart and Lowell Carr kicked the extra point. Middlebury had taken a 13-10 lead just 1:22 earlier when Cole threw a 17-yard scoring pass to Greg Livingston.

Kennon completed 20 of 36 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns. Hersch was 23 for 38 passing for 249 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Jack Sawyer had 10 catches for 139 yards for the Mules.

WILLIAMS 41, BATES 28: Dan Vaughn passed for four touchdowns and ran for another as the Ephs (2-5) defeated the Bobcats (2-5) in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Bates quarterback Colton Bosselai threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns but also was intercepted three times. Christian Olivi caught seven passes for 74 yards and two TDs.

NORTHEASTERN 4, MAINE 1: Aidan McDonough scored twice in a 58-second span early in the second period to start the Huskies (4-2-2, 3-2-1 Hockey East) on their way to a win over the Black Bears (2-4-1, 0-1-1) in Orono.

Matt Choupani made it 3-0, and Jakov Novak added an empty-net goal in the final minute.

Nolan Renwick scored Maine’s goal midway through the second.

SAINT ANSELM 6, SOUTHERN MAINE 5: Tommy Schwartz scored in overtime as the Falcons (2-0) beat the Huskies (0-1) in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Liam Lyons, Will Christensen, Andrew Andary, Matt Hayes and Mark Blaney also scored for Saint Anselm.

Nolan McElhaney had a goal and two assists, while Jakub Suran and Mathieu Sabourin each had a goal and an assists for Southern Maine. Raphael Lajeunesse and Tyler Mitchell also scored.

UCONN 2, UMAINE 0: Jada Habisch scored in the second period and Coryn Tormala in the third as the Huskies (6-4-2, 2-4-2 Hockey East) beat the Black Bears (6-5, 4-2) in Storrs, Connecticut.

Brooklyn Oakes had 27 saves for Maine, while Tia Chan stopped 41 shots for UConn.

TUFTS 1, BATES 0: Reegan McCluskey scored on a feed from Lainie Pearson 6:20 into the third quarter as the second-seeded Jumbos (12-5) knocked off the No. 7 Bobcats (9-8) in a NESCAC quarterfinal in Medford, Massachusetts.

Grace Biddle stopped five shots for Bates, Sam Gibby recorded three saves in the shutout for Tufts.

TRINITY 2, BOWDOIN 0: Ashley Zigler scored in the second quarter and Katrina Winfield scored in the third as the third-seeded Bantams (13-3) beat the sixth-seeded Polar Bears (11-5) in a NESCAC quarterfinal in Hartford, Connecticut.

Izzy Deveney and Elle Fair each added an assist for Trinity.

Julia Arsenault had three saves for Bowdoin.

WESTERN CONNECTICUT 1, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Myah Croze scored from Suzana Imetovski 4:43 into the second half to lift the Wolves (12-6-1, 6-1-1 Little East) over the Huskies (15-3, 7-1) in Danbury, Connecticut.

Breanna Atwood had five saves for Southern Maine, while Kristen Roessler had five saves for Western Connecticut.

WESLEYAN 1, BOWDOIN 0:  The sixth-seeded Cardinals (8-4-5) outscored the third-seeded Polar Bears (10-5-2) 5-3 in the penalty kick shootout to win a NESCAC quarterfinal in Brunswick.

Alex Arndt had 11 saves for Bowdoin, while Sarah Hammond stopped five shots for Wesleyan.

U. OF NEW ENGLAND 1, ENDICOTT 0: Morgan Diefenbach scored with 1:25 left to lift the Nor’easters (10-5-3) to a win over the Gulls (9-5-5) in a Commonwealth Coast Conference quarterfinal game in Biddeford.

UNE advances to face Western New England in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 2, BOWDOIN 1: The eighth-seeded Camels (8-5-3) won the penalty kick shootout 3-1 to knockoff of the top-seeded Polar Bears (11-2-3) in a NESCAC quarterfinal in Brunswick.

Steven Yeonas scored to give Connecticut College the lead early in the second half. Ronaldo Cabral tied it for Bowdoin in the 67th minute.

Michael Webber had seven saves for the Polar Bears, Peter Silvester stopped seven shots for the Camels.

WESTERN CONNECTICUT 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Gustavo Medina and Kadin Talho scored as the Wolves (18-0-1, 8-0 LEC) beat the Huskies (6-5-7, 1-4-3) in Gorham.

CENTRAL MAINE CC 7, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 5: Ivan Domingues had three goals, while Romano Bassa had two to lead the top-seeded Mustangs (9-1-2) past the fifth-seeded Seawolves (4-10-2) in a YSCC semifinal in Concord, New Hampshire.

Abdifatah Yssuf and Abdirahman Daud added goals for CMCC. Laszio Dorogi had three goals for SMCC, while Alberto Kissaka chipped in with a pair of goals.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

ST. LAWRENCE-CHAMPLAIN 75, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 71: Samuelle Lavoie scored seven of her 22 points in overtime as the Lions beat the Seawolves in their opener in Auburn.

Jaylyn Bartolome scored 21 points, while Maddy York had 14 for SMCC.
