My hat is off to Doug Eaton and his hardworking team at Westbrook Public Services Department for the incredible Christmas light display in the City of Westbrook.

Not only do they do a fantastic job clearing snow from the roads and sidewalks in the wintertime and repaint crosswalks and sweep the streets in the summertime, they work hard to pull their community and neighboring communities into the holiday spirit.

Every family that has a chance should drive through the city after dark to witness these beautiful decorations that run from Riverbank Park to Conant Street and extend across the river on Bridge Street. Because it gets so dark so early this time of year, even small children will truly enjoy the gorgeous lights. If anyone is having difficulty getting into the holiday spirit, this little ride will definitely get them in the mood.

I’m grateful for the department’s hard work all year and the extra work they do for us in the holiday season.
