Z. Annette Jordan

CAPE ELIZABETH – Z. Annette Jordan, 91, of Cape Elizabeth passed away peacefully at Gosnell Memorial Hospice Home on Feb. 28, 2023.

Annette was born on May 23, 1931 in Portland to Frederick A. Sanborn and Helen Elwell Sanborn. She was a graduate of Cape Elizabeth High School and attended Westbrook College. Annette loved children and taught at Ledgemere Country Day School, retiring after 25 years.

Annette was a lifelong resident of Cape Elizabeth, where she and her husband raised their three children. Summers were spent at their camp on Raymond Pond, and they spent winters at their home in Florida.

Annette was a proud member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants. A sports enthusiast, she loved watching her children and grandsons playing their games. Annette was an avid Red Sox and Celtic fan.

She loved crafting and was an excellent basket weaver, making many beautiful baskets. She also made lovely shell wreathes. One of her favorite things to do was walking the beaches and collecting shells with Don. She also found great enjoyment working in her flower and vegetable garden. She loved and doted on her granddog, Rudy, always having a treat in her pocket for him.

Annette is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Donald Jordan, Sr.; and children Debra Gale, Susan Rautenberg and Donald Jordan, Jr. She also leaves grandsons Michael Rautenberg (Clara C.) and Daniel Rautenberg (Clara R.), great-grandsons Levi and Miles Rautenberg; nephew David Jordan; and many cousins. Annette was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
