I too found Dick Wright’s recent cartoon, depicting a doddering Joe Biden, more than offensive – not because of the so-called political content, but because of the tiresome, stereotypical, ageist portrayal of Biden (and, by extension, anyone post-middle age). While I am aware that the cartoon is protected by the right to free speech, the Press Herald has no attendant obligation to publish it. This paper can do better.
