Ryan Picollo hit an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning as St. Joseph’s University beat Maine, 3-2, in a college baseball game Friday in Merion Station, Pennsylvania.

Maine (7-11) tied the game in the top of the ninth inning on a solo home run by Myles Sargent.

Ryan Cesarini was 3 for 5 with an RBI for the Hawks.

Ryan Turenne had two singles for the Black Bears.

Colin Fitzgerald allowed one run in six innings for Maine, with seven hits, three walks and three strikeouts.

MIT 15, BATES 9: Jake Sonandres hit a three-run home run as the Engineers (4-5) scored seven times in the bottom of the fourth inning and beat the Bobcats (7-3) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Brandon Biggane was 2 for 4 with four RBI, including a three-run home run for Bates. Tyler Attal had two hits, including a solo home run, and Christopher McGrail also had two hits.

COLBY SWEEPS: Marcus Forrester doubled home the tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning, then scored on Matthew Panker’s sacrifice fly to give Colby a 3-2 win over St. Olaf’s in a doubleheader opener in Davenport, Florida.

Charlie Furlong homered for the Mules.

In Game 2, Panker and Clint Flippo each drove in two runs and Forrester scored three times, leading Colby (7-3) to a 9-3 victory.

SOFTBALL

COLBY SPLITS: The Mules scored 10 runs in the third inning, highlighted by Jackie Hill’s two-run double, and took advantage of eight Oberlin errors in a 13-4 victory at Clermont, Florida.

In Colby’s second game of the day, Chloe Wilcox hit a two-run double for the Mules (7-5) in a 10-2 loss to Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

BATES SWEEPS: Cassidy Musco was 3 for 4 and scored twice as the Bobcats (3-2) beat the Vikings (3-13) 9-1 to earn a doubleheader sweep in Clermont, Florida.

Rachel Liazos and Kama Boswell each added a pair of hits for the Bobcats.

Kennedy Jones and Grace Householter each had RBI singles in the fifth inning as Bates scored four times on its way to a 5-4 win in the opener.

THOMAS SWEEPS ST. JOSEPH’S: Maddie Rock singled, stole second and third, and scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly by Megan Oberholzer as the Terriers (4-8) finished a doubleheader sweep with a 6-5 victory over the Monks (5-6) at Colby College.

Kelsey Currier hit a two-run home run in the first inning for Thomas.

Sylvia Foley had a three-run home run for St. Joseph’s.

Makayla Panich was 3 for 4 with two RBI as Thomas won the first game, 10-5.

Olivia Howe went 3 for 3 with a double and a triple for St. Joseph’s.

BOWDOIN, HAMILTON SPLIT: Shea Sullivan and Kyla Gary each hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh to lift Bowdoin (8-8, 1-1 NESCAC) to a 7-5 win over the Continentals (8-6, 1-1) in the first game of doubleheader in Clinton, New York.

Angelina Mayers had a two-run home run and Sydney Lang a solo homer in the first game for Bowdoin.

Natalie Beebe threw a two-hit shutout and Hamilton won the second game, 7-0.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

SOUTHERN MAINE 11, WORCESTER STATE 10: Paige Rinaldi scored with 3:38 left, with an assist from Kiaya Gatchell, and the Huskies (3-5) beat the Lancers (2-4) in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Rachel Shanks had six goals for Southern Maine, while Cierra Hall added two goals and Gatchell had three assists.

Mckayla Fisher and Shea Jarvis each had three goals and an assist for Worcester State.
