Like President Gerald Ford before him when faced with a need to unite his country, President Biden should immediately pardon Donald Trump. Continuing on the current course risks tearing the country apart.
Such a magnanimous move would benefit Biden; it would be an act of a true statesman. It would show the country that Biden is not afraid to run against Trump. Such a pardon might even help him win reelection.
It would certainly take a lot of air out of Donald Trump’s campaign. Most of all, it truly would be good for the country, which certainly needs to focus on other issues instead of the indictment.
