Jeremiah Jenkins went 4 for 6 with six RBI, and Quinn McDaniel reached base six times as Maine extended its winning streak to six games with a 20-4 victory over Albany in an America East baseball game Friday afternoon in Orono.

McDaniel was 2 for 3 with a two-run homer, a triple and four walks, including one with the bases loaded. Jake Marquez, Myles Sargent and Dean O’Neill each contributed a two-run double as Maine improved to 13-11 overall and 7-0 in America East.

Colin Fitzgerald took a shutout into the sixth inning. He allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out six in 5 1/3 innings.

BOWDOIN 2, TRINITY 1: Jason Bogdanos pitched a two-hitter as the Polar Bears (10-5, 1-0 NESCAC) beat the Bantams (12-6, 2-2) in Brunswick.

CJ Brito-Trinidad singled home Ben McKenzie in the first inning. Gabe Peckler led off the second with a single and eventually scored on an error to make it 2-0.

COLBY 17, BATES 7: Ryan Grace went 5 for 5 with two doubles and four RBI as the Mules (13-5, 2-2 NESCAC) handled the Bobcats (9-8, 0-4) in Waterville.

Marcus Forrester hit a two-run homer and Brady O’Brien had three RBI for Colby. Nicholas Thompson pitched seven innings, giving up one earned run and striking out six.

John Nowak was 2 for 4 with an RBI double for Bates, which scored five runs in the ninth.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 17, GREAT BAY CC 0: Justin Colon, Michael O’Brien and Sam Keblinsky each drove in three runs as the SeaWolves (7-10) coasted to a five-inning win over the Herons (0-4) in South Portland.

Dylan Sellinger, Ryan Thurber and Luke Wearne all had two RBI. Liam Jann struck out seven while allowing only one hit over four innings.

SOFTBALL

BATES, BOWDOIN SPLIT: Bowdoin (12-12, 5-5 NESCAC) scored six runs in the fifth inning and four in the sixth to rally for a 13-5 win in a doubleheader opener, but Bates (8-6, 2-2) responded with a 13-1 victory in the second game, at Lewiston.

Lilly Armstrong, Sydney Lang and Angelina Mayers homered for Bowdoin in Game 1, with Armstrong and Lang each tallying three RBI. JK Bradley had two RBI.

Grace Householter hit a three-run shot and had four RBI for Bates in Game 2. Sarah Cooke added a two-run homer, and Madison Hollis pitched a three-hitter.

Mayers blasted her second home run of the day for Bowdoin.

UNE SWEEPS: Kara McDonald allowed six hits and no earned runs in Game 1, and Makenzy Herron went 4 for 5 with three RBI in the second game as the University of New England (6-16, 3-3 Commonwealth Coast) earned 4-2 and 14-5 victories over Suffolk (3-14, 2-4) in East Boston, Massachusetts.

Herron also had two hits and scored twice in the opener. Abby Miner tallied two hits in each game and notched three RBI in Game 2. Becca Dumont and Grace Tutt contributed three hits apiece in the five-inning second game.

UCONN: Jordan Hawkins announced that he will leave college and enter the NBA draft.

The 6-foot-5 sophomore averaged 16.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists this season, helping lead the Huskies to the program’s fifth NCAA Tournament title.

MICHIGAN: Caleb Love, a 6-foot-4 guard, announced on social media that he plans to transfer to the Wolverines from North Carolina.

Love averaged a team-high 16.7 points last season, and 14.6 points in three seasons as a starter for the Tar Heels.

The Wolverines also added former Seton Hall guard Tray Jackson.
