Jeremiah Jenkins was 3 for 4, including a three-run home run, as Maine beat UMass Lowell 11-5 in an America East Conference baseball game Saturday in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Jenkins finished with four RBI and scored twice for the Black Bears (23-15, 13-2 America East). Jake Rainess added a single and a double, scored three times and drove in a pair. Connor Goodman had an RBI single in the second inning and a two-run single in the third.

South Portland graduate Noah Lewis pitched seven innings, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out eight and walking four to earn his fifth win of the season.

Former Bonny Eagle standout Jacob Humphrey had two hits and scored twice for UMass Lowell (13-28, 6-12).

ST. JOSEPH’S SWEPT: Jared Wilhelm had four hits and two RBI, but the Monks (18-20, 9-8 GNAC) were swept in a doubleheader against Lasell (26-15, 15-4), losing 5-1 and 8-3 in Standish.

SMCC SWEEPS: The SeaWolves (20-15, 8-1 YSCC) claimed their sixth-straight YSCC regular-season title with a doubleheader sweep of the Mustangs (25-13, 5-4) in South Portland.

Dylan Sellinger broke a 3-3 tie with an RBI single in the fourth as SMCC won the opener, 7-3. Luke Wearne had two RBI and Thomas Knott allowed five hits in a complete game. Zach Mann hit a two-run single for CMCC.

Kalin Marum pitched a shutout in Game 2, a 5-0 win for the SeaWolves. Anthony Sayers went 2 for 3 with two RBI and a run scored to lead SMCC’s offense.

COLBY, TUFTS SPLIT: Ryan Grace hit a sacrifice fly and Clint Flippo scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh inning as Colby (22-9, 7-4 NESCAC) won 4-3 in the first game of a doubleheader with Tufts (25-7, 10-1) in Waterville.

Jack Evans hit an RBI double in the sixth and an RBI single in the eighth as Tufts won the second game, 2-1.

BOWDOIN SWEEPS BATES: Kevin Murray hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Polar Bears (16-12, 5-7 NESCAC) to a 10-9 win in the first game of a doubleheader against the Bobcats (16-15, 1-11) in Brunswick.

CJ Brito-Trinidad and Gabe Peckler also homered in the first game for Bowdoin.

Christian O’Brien was 3 for 3 with three RBI and two runs scored as the Polar Bears won the second game, 7-2.

FOOTBALL

MAINE: Zavier Scott, a wide receiver and running back, signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent following the NFL Draft.

Scott led the Black Bears with 42 receptions last fall, finishing with 434 receiving yards and one touchdown catch. He also gained 371 yards on 39 carries and scored four touchdowns on the ground.

Also, offensive lineman Michael Gerace was invited to the Colts’ rookie mini camp in May.

UMAINE SWEPT: Caitlyn Fallon allowed three runs on six hits in a complete-game effort but took the loss in the first game of a doubleheader as the Black Bears (12-34, 3-12 America East) lost 3-1 to Binghamton (28-13, 12-4) 3-1 in Orono.

Grace McGouldrick had two hits, including a home run, as Maine lost the second game, 4-1.

BATES, TUFTS SPLITS: Kennedy Jones homered in the fourth inning and Madison Hollis pitched a shutout as Bates (14-12, 6-8 NESCAC) won 1-0 in the first game of a doubleheader with Tufts (31-3, 13-1) in Lewiston.

Hollis (6-4) allowed four hits, struck out five and didn’t walk a batter.

Rachel Moore and Josie Steinberg both went 2 for 4 with two RBI and a run scored as Tufts won the second game, 7-0.

COLBY, BOWDOIN SPLIT: JK Bradley scored twice  and Maddie Current pitched a complete game as Bowdoin (19-7, 9-7 NESCAC) secured a doubleheader split with a 4-2 win over Colby (20-12, 7-7) in Brunswick.

Carissa Cassidy had three hits, drove in two and scored once as Colby won the first game, 10-5.

ST. JOSEPH’S, SIMMONS SPLIT:  Charlotte Cloutier hit an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Monks (20-16, 8-2 GNAC) to a 5-4 win over the Sharks (22-14, 8-2) in the second game of a doubleheader in Standish.

Maddie Castigliego allowed six hits and struck out four as Simmons won the first game, 3-2.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

MIDDLEBURY 16, BOWDOIN 6: Colleen McAloon and Sophia Schaefer each scored twice as the No. 8 Polar Bears (6-10) lost to the top-seeded Panthers (16-0) in the NESCAC quarterfinals in Middlebury, Vermont.

Middlebury advances to face No. 4 Colby in the semifinals on May 6.

COLBY 12, TRINITY 10: Paige Saudek scored three goals, while Ally Franz had two goals and two assists as the No. 4 Mules (12-4) beat the fifth-seeded Bantams (11-5) in a NESCAC quarterfinal in Waterville.

Cami McDonald added two goals for Colby.

WESTERN CONNECTICUT STATE 11, SOUTHERN MAINE 8: Maddie Kinney, Rachel Shanks, Cierra Hill and Julia McKenna each scored twice for USM, but the Huskies (9-8, 5-2 Little East) lost to the Wolves (14-2, 7-0) in Gorham.

Vicky Gracy and Colleen Crotty each had three goals and an assist for Western Connecticut, which won its third straight LEC regular-season title.

MEN’S LACROSSE

AMHERST 18, BOWDOIN 16: The Polar Bears (11-5) gave up seven goals in the fourth quarter and lost to the Mammoths (11-4) in the NESCAC quarterfinals in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Jason Lach scored five goals for Bowdoin, while Patrick Fitzgerald had three goals and three assists.
