Jess Dow singled in the tying run, then scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch as the Thornton Academy softball team scored four times in the top of the seventh and beat Cheverus 6-3 in Portland.

Emily Coleman had three hits and an RBI for Thornton Academy. Sophia Bogardus went the distance for the Golden Trojans (2-4).

Hailey Lamontagne hit a two-run home run and Anna Goodman singled in a run for the Stags (4-3).

CAPE ELIZABETH 21, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 3: Lauren Steinberg had three doubles and drove in five runs as the Capers (5-2) beat the Seagulls (1-7) in a game shortened to five innings in Cape Elizabeth.

Phoebe Caton stuck out five to earn the win for Cape Elizabeth. Sophia Chung drove in four runs, while Grace Callahan had three RBI.

Maddy Dow had a walk and an RBI for OOB.

WINDHAM 10, MARSHWOOD/BERWICK 1: Brooke Gerry allowed three hits and struck out 13 as the Eagles (7-1) cruised to a win over Marshwood/Berwick (5-3) in Windham.

Lydia Marden had a double, two singles and four RBI for Windham.

BASEBALL

MARSHWOOD 6, KENNEBUNK 0: Riley Parnham went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI and the Hawks (5-2) scored six runs in the fifth inning in their win over the Rams (3-5) in South Berwick.

Noah Fitzgerald pitched a shutout, allowing four hits and striking out 12 to earn the win for Marshwood.

Quinn MacDonald had two hits for Kennebunk.

GORHAM 12, NOBLE 0: CJ Whitehead had two hits and three RBI, and Quinn Dillon added three hits and two RBI as the Rams (3-3) beat the Knights (4-3) in North Berwick.

Malachi Scribner added two RBI. Jack Karlonas pitched a shutout, allowing three hits and striking out three.

SOUTH PORTLAND 9, WINDHAM 1: Johnny Poole finished with two hits, including an inside-the-park home run, as the Red Riots (5-2) beat the Eagles in South Portland

Nick Swain pitched six innings to earn the win for South Portland, allowing four hits and one earned run, while striking out 11.

Alex Wing had two hits, including a home run for Windham.

WESTBROOK 7, THORNTON ACADEMY 3: Alex Bean had two singles and two RBI as the Blue Blazes (3-4) scored six times in the sixth inning to beat the Trojans (3-5) in Westbrook.

Ben Eugley added two hits, scored twice and drove in a run for Westbrook. Quincy Seavey allowed one hit and no earned runs in three innings of relief to earn the win.

Beck Edgerly and Henry Lausier each had an RBI for Thornton Academy.

BIDDEFORD 4, PORTLAND 3: Kaden Langevin walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Tigers (3-4) the win over the Bulldogs (1-6) in Biddeford.

Caden Petit and Dom Smith singled to lead off the seventh. An error on a sacrifice bunt attempt loaded the bases before Langevin walked.

Gavin Haggert struck out 12 in six innings for Biddeford. He allowed three runs on five hits and three walks. Jacob Kaiser got the win with a scoreless seventh inning. Henry Bibeau had a two-run single in the fifth.

Reegan Buck had two hits and Henry Bibeau had two RBI for Portland.

CHEVERUS 4, SANFORD 3: Lucas Soutuyo had two hits and two RBI and Matt Connor struck out four in six innings as the Stags (6-1) edged the Spartans (4-3) in Sanford.

Alex Sevigny had one hit and two RBI for Sanford.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

KENNEBUNK 18, THORNTON ACADEMY 3: Mara Muse had six goals and an assist as the Rams (8-0) beat the Trojans (4-3) in Kennebunk.

Ivy Armentrout added four goals and an assist for Kennebunk, while Camdyn Keenan added three goals and five assists. Ruby Sliwkowski added two goals and two assists.

Morgan Bolduc scored a goal and an assist for Thornton Academy.

BIDDEFORD 17, DEERING 3: Abby Bouffard had nine goals and two assists as the Tigers (7-1) beat the Rams (0-6) in Biddeford.

Cece Keller added four goals and four assists, while Danielle Emerson, Kylie Parent, Ella Burnell and Aaliyah Fournell also scored for Biddeford.

Kyla Elsayem made 11 saves for Deering.

FALMOUTH 13, GORHAM 6: Keira Alcock and Maeve Ginevan each had three goals as the Navigators (5-1) beat the Rams (3-3) in Gorham.

Sloane Ginevan and Lucy Taylor both added two goals, while Amelia Brann and Patty Riley combined for seven saves for Falmouth.

Kaitlyn Nichols had three goals for Gorham. Elizabeth Keil made five saves.

WINDHAM 15, MASSABESIC 10: Ashley Clark, Grace Joly, Neve Ledbetter and Abby Trainor all netted three goals as the Eagles (6-2) topped the Mustangs (0-7) in Windham.

Mallory Muse scored twice for Windham and Riley Small tallied five saves.

Marleigh Roy had four goals, while Sydney Cyr had three for Massabesic.

SOUTH PORTLAND 13, BONNY EAGLE 4: Rain Jordan scored four goals and Abigail Thayer had a hat trick as the Red Riots (1-7) cruised to a win over the Scots (2-5) in South Portland.

Sydney Knaide and Lauren Steady added two goals apiece for South Portland.

Peyton Cobb scored two goals for Bonny Eagle.
