SACO – Working to make Saco’s rich history more inclusive, Ward 6 city councilor and Deputy Mayor Jodi MacPhail, in a June 9 news release, announced her candidacy for the upcoming mayoral election and intends to file the necessary paperwork when released.

The two-term city councilor, who is council liaison to the Economic Development Commision, Saco Parks and Rec Advisory Board, Dyer Library Board of Trustees and has also served as a longtime volunteer with Saco Main Street, United Baptist Church and more, is a lifelong Saco resident and Thornton Academy Graduate, class of 1989.
“I intend to continue to work for all residents of Saco with a transparent and open dialogue with constituents, city staff, council and communities around us and give a platform for all voices to be heard,” said MacPhail in an email.
According to the news release, MacPhail seeks to become Saco’s first female mayor.
