The Thompson’s Point Rink in Portland will open again this December after a one-year hiatus with a number of improvements.
Among the improvements are an expanded ice skating surface, upgraded seating and a new gathering and warming area, along with a permanent refrigeration system and a solar-powered chiller.
The Thompson’s Point management team hopes to open the rink before the winter holidays.
Live video footage of the rink will be shown on the Boston and Maine Live YouTube channel.
