Arthur “Artie” Fred Strout

LEWISTON – Arthur “Artie” Fred Strout, 42, tragically lost his life on Oct. 25, 2023, due to the horrific events that took place at Schemengees Bar and Grill in Lewiston.

Artie was born April 30, 1981, to Arthur Barnard and Rena (Strout) Bourgoin. He was an incredibly fun loving, caring, exceptional human being, Father, Son, Husband, Brother, Uncle and Friend. Those who knew him remember his kindness, his relentless hugs and his contagious recognizable ridiculously goofy giggle.

Artie married the love of his life Kristy (Walsh) on March 5, 2016. Together they had a blended family of five children that he cherished more than anything; Marcus Strout-Caron, Milo Everett, Summer Palmer, Logan Palmer and Brianna Strout.

Artie enjoyed playing pool with his family and friends. Playing video games with his children and above all spending time with family and so many friends.

Artie is survived by his father and mother, his wife and children, his stepparents, Julianna Barnard and Jim Bourgoin, his siblings: Eric Edwards, Anthony Pelletier, James Bourgoin, Jessie Merrill, Christopher Barnard, Kayla Thompson, Kimberly Bourgoin, Tyler Barnard, Savannah Merrill and Robert Bourgoin. Along with dozens of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Fredrick Strout Sr. and Barbara (Greenlaw) Estes, paternal grandmother Betty Adam, his uncles, David Strout Sr. and Erwin “Ernie” May, his aunts, Wanda Strout and Jaqueline Strout and his cousin James Bixby.

A Memorial gathering will be held Sunday November 5, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway Lewiston.
