FALMOUTH – Dorothy Louise Berti, 87, a cherished mother and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024 in Falmouth, surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy was born in Boston, Mass. on Oct. 2, 1936, daughter of the late Victor and Dorothy (Hayes) Berti.

Dorothy attended Fisher College where she earned her associate’s degree. Throughout her life, Dorothy made a lasting impact on communities across New England, having been a resident of Boston/Medford, Mass., Southwest Harbor, Cumberland, and Portland. Dorothy worked as a legal secretary at Thompson McNaboe, Ashley and Bull, and Petrucelli and Martin in Portland. Additionally, she served as a valued member of the staff at Cheverus High School in Portland. She brought her warmth, generosity, and humor wherever she went, enriching the lives of those around her.

Dorothy was predeceased by her sister, Diane Venneri.

She is survived by her two children, whom she adored with all her heart, Margarete Schnauck and husband Sam Mangino of North Yarmouth, and John and his wife Alexa Schnauck of Marshfield; beloved grandchildren, Keller Schnauck Gardner, Tyler and Eliza Schnauck, and Samantha Mangino; two brothers, James Berti and Victor Berti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Dorothy with her family in private. She will be buried in Boston, Mass. at St. Michael Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland.
