Patricia N. Warden

SCARBOROUGH – On April 13, 2024, Patricia N. Warden, 89, was called home to be with her beloved husband, Tom and her son, Bo. She was born on Nov. 15, 1934, in Portland the daughter of the late Hollis O. Dixon and Elsie N. Sprague Dixon.

Pat graduated from South Portland High School in 1952 with honors. She went to work after high school as a secretary for the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States and later in life for Portland Pump Company. She then became a Pharmacy Technician and worked in the pharmacy at CVS and at Spring Harbor.

In 1954 she became engaged to Thomas S. Warden when he returned from Japan following two years of service in the U.S. Army. They were married at Thornton Heights Methodist Church in South Portland on Feb. 18, 1956. Together they raised three children, Linda Warden Brewster, Dianne Warden Reynolds, and the late Thomas “Bo” Warden Jr.

Family was the most important thing to Pat with her friends coming in a very close second. There were many family gatherings and reunions over the years and Pat helped to organize them all. Pat was an amazing woman. She had the kindest heart and she treated everyone like family. Her home was always open to everyone. She had the biggest listening ear and enough wisdom and love to make a difference.

Linda, Dianne, and Bo were blessed to have Pat as their mom. She was a stay at home mom most of their childhood and she was involved in every part of their lives. She made sure that they knew they were loved right up to her last breath.

Pat was a member at Cressey Road United Methodist Church and belonged to the United Methodist Women. She was a woman of faith and lived her life always reaching out to help and loving everyone regardless of their circumstance. She touched many lives.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Linda Brewster and her two children, Ryan (wife Brandy and daughters Alyssa and Addison) and Seth (wife Britney and daughter Veda); her daughter, Dianne Reynolds and husband Craig and their three children, Bree (husband Matt and son Cole), Hannah (husband Johnny and daughter Lorelai) and Benjamin (wife Brie and children London, Matteo, and Luca); and her late son, “Bo”s daughter Shelby Groetzinger (husband Blaine and children Naeva, Asher, and Ellie). She is also survived by her brother, Hollis Dixon (wife Nikki), her sister, Susie Sibley Jodoin (husband Clark); and many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Tom; her beloved son, “Bo”, her son-in-law, Jim; and her sister, Nan.

Many thanks to the staff at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Scarborough for their care of Pat since 2020.

A service of celebration will be held 1 p.m., May 4 at Tuttle Road Community Church, 52 Tuttle Rd. Cumberland with a reception to immediately follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to a cause you knew Pat to love.
