A Maine woman has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for her role in a drug distribution ring she ran with her father, and a Dexter man will also serve 10 years for his participation in the scheme.
In addition to the prison term, Kelli Mujo, 31, of Harmony and Wellington in Maine and Central Falls, Rhode Island, was sentenced by Judge Jon D. Levy in U.S. District Court in Bangor to five years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and oxycodone and maintaining drug-involved premises.
Levy also sentenced Mark Tasker, 49, to five years of supervised release when he has completed his 10-year prison sentence.
Mujo and her father, Roger Belanger, were convicted last August of operating the drug ring from 2002 to 2014. The two got drugs in Rhode Island and then sold them in and around Dexter.
Prosecutors said Tasker also took part in the operation and was convicted of conspiring to distribute and possessing, with the intent to distribute, cocaine and oxycodone and maintaining drug-involved premises.
In sentencing Tasker, Levy said the extent of the conspiracy was “extraordinary” and noted that Tasker had been involved during its entire 12-year existence.
