For the third consecutive night, the city of Portland has announced a parking ban affecting the city’s downtown district so public works crews can continue removing snow from streets and sidewalks following Tuesday’s blizzard.

Jessica Grondin, a city spokesperson, said a yellow zone parking ban would be in effect from 10 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday, which means any vehicle parked on an affected street can be towed at the owner’s expense.

The yellow zone ban only affects streets bounded by Cumberland Avenue, Franklin Street, Commercial Street and State Street.
