Marilyn Reynolds wrote an interesting political letter. She noted, “Eliot Cutler may have spectacular talents and philosophy, but he is in fact a third-party candidate … .”
Well, for Ms. Reynolds and others who may feel that Mr. Cutler doesn’t yet meet their standard for governor, I’ll take a little editing license and change “may” to “does” and further note that if they had considered these qualities in the previous election, Mr. Cutler would now be employing his talents and philosophies as governor.
Recall that he barely missed being the governor in the last election, which I consider quite a feat for a third-party candidate.
So, I would propose that thinking along party lines may be the usual voting philosophy, but please think about credentials, experience and history the next time you pull the voting lever.
