At its best, journalism explains the world to us, and ourselves to each other.
The Jan. 29 article by Kelley Bouchard on Joey Harrigan and his family, “Jittery yet joyful, teenager enters new stage in life of a drag princess” (Page A1), met that high standard.
The marvelous photography of Brianna Soukup amplified the message. It made me proud to be a subscriber to the Portland Press Herald and a supporter of excellent journalism.
