Church’s Ladies’ Society offers fifth Bridge Breakfast
The Ladies’ Society of the First Congregational Church of Kennebunkport is accepting reservations for its fifth annual Bridge Breakfast, to be held at 9:15 a.m. on April 24 at the church’s Ober Hall at 141 North St.
The spring fundraiser for bridge players of all levels includes a home-cooked breakfast. Please bring playing cards, score sheets and pencils.
The venue is handicapped-accessible.

Free Joshua L. Chamberlain talk explores the Civil War
The Joshua L. Chamberlain Civil War Round Table lecture will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Curtis Memorial Library’s Morrell Room, at 23 Pleasant St.
Steve Bunker, a longtime re-enactor with the 1st Maine Cavalry, will discuss the Civil War in the West.
The lecture is free and donations are appreciated.

Two Maine geologists offer Kiwanis Club lecture
The Scarborough Kiwanis Club will host a talk by Walter Anderson and Dr. Robert Marvinney from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at The Egg & I restaurant at 183 Route 1.
Anderson is the chief geologist for the Appalachian Trail Maine Chapter and Marvinney is a state geologist and director of the Maine Geological Survey.

Brick Store Museum talk takes listeners back to 1968
The Brick Store Museum will host a discussion at 6 p.m. Wednesday ahead of the June opening of an exhibition on the year 1968.
Curators are seeking input from community members on their memories of 1968. The discussion is free and refreshments will be served.
Museum director Cynthia Walker and town historian Steve Spofford will lead the session, which will be recorded so museum staff can use the information for the exhibition.
