BRUNSWICK — A 30-year Navy veteran who lost in the 2012 Republican primary for U.S. Congress says he’s going to run again.
Blaine Richardson, of Belfast, was a political unknown when he took on state Sen. Kevin Raye in the 2012 GOP primary for the 2nd Congressional District. Raye won 60-40 percent in the primary but lost to Democratic U.S. Rep. Michaud in the general election.
Richardson, who’s aligned with the conservative wing of the Republican Party, tells The Times Record that he’s going to run in next year’s primary and already has a campaign committee in place.
