SOUTH PORTLAND — Police were led on a brief chase in the early morning hours on March 3, after responding to a report of a vehicle striking a snow bank.
Police received a report that a red Volkswagen Golf had backed into a snow bank on Mildred Street and then driven off.
Officer Chris Goslin reportedly located the vehicle on Hill Street. When he attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver sped away. A short chase ensued before the vehicle crashed on Evans Street and the driver attempted to flee the scene on foot.
Officer Jake Hall caught Theodore Larkin, 23, of South Portland, the alleged driver, and arrested him on charges of operating under the influence, refusing to submit to arrest, eluding a police officer, illegal attachment of plates and leaving the scene of an accident.
