PORTLAND — Four artists have been selected as finalists to work with Wallace Roberts & Todd to design artwork for Congress Square.
City spokeswoman Jessica Grondin announced June 21 that Ned Kahn, of Sebastopol, California; Patrick Marold, of Denver, Colorado; and New York City residents Matthew Ritchie and Sarah Sze were selected as finalists by the Public Art Commission. Ninty-seven people applied for the project.
Each artist will come to Portland Aug. 8 for site visits, commission interviews and public presentations of their work.
Based in Philadelphia, WRT was selected June 3 to lead a redesign project for the area between the Portland Museum of Art and Portland Westin Harborview Hotel, including the intersections of Congress, High and Free streets.
