Portland’s Zack Elowitch pins Mt. Blue’s Tucker Nicholas in 56 seconds Saturday to win the Class A wrestling state title at 160 pounds. Elowitch helped Portland finish 10th as a team (Mt. Ararat/Brunswick came in first). Teammate Malcolm Garland was runner-up at 195 pounds and Portland’s Harold Degenhardt finished third in the heavyweight division. Cheverus placed 15th as a team and had two fourth-place finishers (Teigan Lindstedt at 182 pounds and Sean Sullivan at 220 pounds). Deering did not score.
