Maine Handicapped Skiing is seeking volunteer instructors for expanded winter programs. In January, MHS will begin its 30th winter season offering adaptive skiing and snowboarding lessons at Sunday River.
To respond to growing demand, MHS will be adding Alpine and Nordic resorts where the program is offered. To keep up with this expansion, MHS is seeking additional volunteer instructors. Intermediate or advance skiers are trained in adaptive techniques, equipment and instruction, and work assisting with individual lessons for skiers and riders with broad-ranging disabilities.
Lift tickets are free to the volunteers, who must provide their own equipment and must commit to three days of preseason training. To learn more, please visit www.skimhs.org or call (207) 824-2440.
