BIDDEFORD — Donors and the volunteer efforts of Biddeford High School’s Interact Club helped brighten the day of children at Southern Maine Health Care during the holiday by provding them with a new toy.

“It means so much to the children to have a gift to open,” said Jan Roberts, RN, manager of obstetrics and pediatrics at SMHC. “We are very grateful to the BHS Interact Club for helping to make the holidays bright for these ill children.”

“Seventy kids are members of the Interact Club, and it was a joyful experience for them to help others in need during the holidays,” said BHS chemistry teacher and Interact Club Director Ruth Shaw.”

BHS senior and Interact Club officer Ryan Paquereau helped Shaw make the delivery to SMHC. Interact members also helped the Biddeford-Saco Rotary Club purchase and wrap gift baskets for local families.
