SIS employees and customers collected coats, hats and other outerwear, which were then donated to the Salvation Army of Sanford, Maine, for distribution to area youth in need for the sixth consecutive year.
Items collected at SIS’s Portsmouth, New Hampshire, branch stayed in the area to benefit children in the Seacoast community.
To cover any sizes or items that are in high demand, SIS also held a “Casual for a Cause Day,” on which employees could contribute $3 (or more) to wear jeans to work on a weekend.
A total of $368 was raised through that effort and subsequently donated to the Salvation Army, which used the funds to purchase any additional warm items that were needed.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of the heartwarming efforts of the Maine Bankers Association and the Salvation Army to keep families safe and comfortable this time of year,” said SIS President Blaine Boudreau. “We’d also like to thank Pratt Abbott for their contribution to the Coats for Kids cause, as they generously volunteer to clean and sort each donated article before distribution every year.”
