Three teenagers have been charged with arson in connection with a fire that destroyed a vacant New Gloucester house this weekend.
Investigators with the state Fire Marshal’s Office and the New Gloucester Fire Department charged three 13-year-old boys from Gray and New Gloucester Monday with setting fire to the raised ranch style house.
The fire broke out at 9 a.m. Saturday at 5 Missy Lane, a house that had been vacant for more than three years. The fire started in the basement, investigators said.
The boys have been released to their parents.
The building has been demolished.
