To the editor:

Is the U.S. sacrificing it’s children in the name of more military spending? What are our priorities? What is the moral standard for budget decisions? Is there a cost/benefit analysis being done to compare military spending to social programs?

It seems that government spending is being done without much concern about the real costs. The government is spending on the military as if the bill never needs to be paid, and with no concern for who is going to pay it.

Good financial decisions happen when potential is recognized, and an investment is made to get things going in the right direction. Then the benefit is greater than the investment. Look at recent wars the U.S. has been in, and seriously ask yourself if it was worth the cost.

The U.S. outspends every nation on Earth in regard to defense. And we are asking the children we won’t feed to pay that bill in the future.
