Brunswick police are investigating a break-in at the Days’ Jewelers at the Merry Meeting Mall on Bath Road on Sunday.
Police were alerted to the burglary at 8:15 p.m. by an alarm and thought the burglars might still be inside.
Local police, deputies with the Sagadahoc County sheriff’s office, Topsham police and the Maine Marine Patrol responded. Once someone with a building key arrived, police went in and discovered several items missing from the display cases and the burglars already gone, police said.
Police recovered evidence at the scene which is being processed at the Maine State Police crime lab in Augusta.
