I appreciate so much your Nov. 27 editorial in defense of Maine’s tradition of upholding “blue laws” on Thanksgiving Day (“Our View: Black Friday can wait”), but I am puzzled by the statement that Thanksgiving is our “best holiday, in part because people can celebrate it anyway (sic) they like.”
In this country, people can celebrate each and every holiday any way they like – they can even not celebrate holidays at all, and that’s an option for which I can be truly thankful.
