Hoyt Hel snowblows the sidewalk on Cumberland Avenue Monday. The city got 2.9 inches of snow Sunday and overnight and the National Weather Service predicted another 4 to 8 inches by the time the storm tapered off by early Tuesday. Other parts of Cumberland County got about 6 inches Sunday and overnight. The wind in southern Maine was blowing between 15 to 25 mph on Monday, enough to cause deep drifts.
